We offer dog walking services that are both physically and mentally engaging for dogs. The bwd Petcare Blockwalks are leashed, one household at a time, and allow for us to concentrate on your dog's unique needs.
While we can absolutely customize your appointment according to your needs and preferences, we specialize in providing focused on-leash exercise in your neighbourhood.
This complete activity fulfills your dog's innate desire for migration, human leadership, and usefulness. This also allows us to work on any undesired behaviours, such as dog reactivity, in your stead with great success.
The longer walks are great for adding some sniff time to the walk! Not only does your dog need to be a dog but decompression can help de-stress and build confidence.

Dog Walking occurs between 9am and 9pm, weekdays and weekends.
As Ottawa’s premium pet care service, all Blockwalks include:
notification upon arrival and completion of service;

If you are interested in our Blockwalk or Comfort Care services, the first appointment must be a Dog Assessment.
This is where we send our most experienced staff to meet your dog to make sure that there is no safety risk to our employees. It is preferred that you are not present as dogs behave differently when their humans are not home.
If you would like to speak to a human, you can call us at any time. Once your account is created you can also book our free phone consultation.

If our employees need to pay for parking for any reason (no space in your driveway, no free street parking available, parking ban due to weather), then any cost incurred while providing services will be added to your invoice.

Lockboxes and keyless entry are accepted.
Detached/Semi-Detached housing: Outdoor lockboxes or front door keypads.
Apartment buildings: Buzz codes for entry and a lockbox on your apartment door (those velcro command strips work really well to hold them up with no damage).

Absolutely; we offer the flexibility, reliability, and accountability that you need. Many of our clients are Nurses, Doctors, Paramedics, Firefighters, Dispatchers, Bartenders, etc.
You are not locked into a schedule and there’s no weekly minimum service requirement.
If you do not use our dog walking services regularly then a Dog Reassessment may be required to double check your dog’s behaviour. This is up to our discretion.

You can request walks anytime. The more notice that is given to us, the more likely we can accommodate your preferred start-time.
We charge a Last Minute Booking fee on any requests that are made within 48 hours of an arrival window.

Any cancellations made to an already approved and assigned appointment must be mad with a minimum of 48hrs from the top of your requested arrival window for the cost to be waived.
Giving fewer than 48hrs notice from the top of your arrival window will incur the full charge for the service.

It depends.
How often are you booking and does your schedule coincide with our staff member’s availability? We do our best.
The reality is that we walk dogs from 09h00 to 21h00, seven days a week and we do encourage that our staff keep a healthy work/life balance.
Our training program assures consistent service so that we can have a qualified walker assigned to your request whenever that might be. The more consistent you are then the more consistent we can be.
